This pendant is hand carved to look like a ceramic shard. Into the surface I have carved the side profile of a mouse and a section of a bunch of grapes. I set a London blue topaz into the back side of it.
The initial inspiration for this was a shard of ceramic I found on my walk to the studio that I subsequently made a claw setting for. London is such an old city it isn’t unusual to come across old broken objects whether by the thames shoreline or unearthed elsewhere. This piece has been on my studio wall for a while and made me think about the time I spent drawing shards on an Archeological dig in Uzbekistan(more below). The silver shards I’ve made hark back to this feeling of wonder - the wearer of the piece can imagine the world it might have come from.
One only.
Comes on an 18 cable inch chain but can source other lengths - please email me.
Hand carved, cast and hallmarked in London in recycled silver and a natural Topaz.
