Caring for your jewellery

Hilfreich Jewellery is made from silver which is certified by hallmark stamp of the London Assay office.

The beauty of silver is that it tarnishes over time as you wearing it, reacting with water and air and bringing an element of the owner and their daily encounters into the surface of the silver.

However… to keep your piece looking good please:

• Remove rings when using power tools.

• Avoid contact with chemicals to prevent excessive tarnishing (these include perfumes, lotions and hand gels).

If you would like to clean your silver piece you can:

• Wash it with warm soapy water and dry (wear it in the shower!).

• For a deeper clean, buy silver polish OR DIY clean it with bicarb and foil (will try and make a video but there are many on youtube!).

Storage:

If you are not wearing your jewellery for an extended period please keep it in a airtight jewellery box or container to stop tarnishing. Do not leave the ring in a wet or damp environment for prolonged periods as this will cause oxidisation.
